Thai Massage (Nuad Thai / Nuad Boran) $95

Experience an ancient energy-based healing massage over 2,000 years old, that combines acupressure, reflexology, and assisted yoga postures. Rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is gently pulled, stretched and rocked in order to clear energy blockages. Joints are opened, muscles and tendons are stretched, internal organs are toned, and energy is balanced. Thus, diminishing tension and stimulating the metabolism. The overall effect is one of deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and physical and mental wellbeing, focusing on circulation of vital energy in major pathways. The major energy lines are manipulated, and important pressure points along these pathways are stimulated to help break down blockages, stimulate energy flow and restore balance and harmony.   • This massage should NOT be performed directly after a meal. It is best not to eat a big meal within 2 hours, or a small meal within 1 hour of receiving the work.
  • Do not plan a strenuous workout or perform heavy lifting after the massage. Allow your muscles to adjust to their newly opened state before subjecting it to high impact activities, which could result in spasm.

Shiatsu reduces stress, relieves pain, helps to relieve nausea and vomiting as well as diarrhea, indigestion, constipation, and other disorders of the gastrointestinal tract; menstrual and menopausal problems; chronic pain; migraine; arthritis; toothache; anxiety; and depression. Shiatsu can be used to relieve muscular pain or tension, especially neck and back pain. It also has sedative effects and helps to alleviate insomnia.   • Because it may increase blood flow, this type of therapy is NOT recommended in people with bleeding problems, heart disease, or cancer.

  • Sports Massage should NOT be done if any of the following are present:
  • Excessive Bruising (the injured tissue can be damaged even more severly)
  • Tendon Ruptures (If a tendon is ruptured severely, surgery is required and massage should not be attempted)
  • Open Wounds
  • Broken Bones
  • Periostitis (An inflammation of the sheath that surrounds the bone, periostitis will become more irritated with massage)
  • Infections (If you have infections in your skin or soft tissues, the infection can be spread and simultaneously, the pain will get worse)
